Looking for a great family vacation in a beautiful mountain setting, then take a look at the Beaver Lodge located between Divide and Florissant Colorado. This cabin is situated on thirty, beautifully wooded acres of land with Twin Creek flowing on the north side of the property. (If you are lucky you may even see a Beaver at work on its house and pond.) Owners Brad and Laura with their son Kyle (Manager) of Divide Mountain Rentals earn a Five Star rating in our opinion as each of their vacation rental properties are kept very neat and clean for the next family to settle in and enjoy a Colorado Mountain Vacation.
This 1900 square foot cabins interior is beautifully furnished with all of the comforts of home, with a large vaulted ceiling and floor to ceiling windows in the large living room, you get a great view of the scenery outside. For your convenience there are two and one baths, and a kitchen with all of the tools to prepare meals to feed yourself, your guest’s, or your family. Be sure to check out the handmade furniture made by the owner, for example the Aspen wood bed frame upstairs. On those cool evenings sit back and relax by the fireplace to read your favorite book or enjoy watching a movie on the 50″ plasma TV.
For the outdoor enthusiast, enjoy hiking the thirty acres of land, and for those interested in Western railroad History be sure to check out the abandoned Colorado Midland Railroad from the 1800’s between the cabin and the stream. Other activities to do around the cabin are bird watching, taking in the scenery while relaxing on the wrap around deck, cooking a meal on the outdoor grill and taking a dip in the hot tub after a fun day of exploring the many things to do in the area. And if it is a clear dark night, check out the stars.
If you are looking for recreational ideas to do in the region, there is plenty, such as fishing 11 Mile Reservoir and Spinney Mountain Reservoir and the Gold Medal fly fishing sections of the South Platte River, 11 Mile Canyon and the Dream Stream. Some other activities to do are the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center, Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument, The Heritage Center of Cripple Creek, The World Famous Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine Tour, visit the town of Cripple Creek, Garden of The gods, Cave of the Winds, White water rafting in the Arkansas River, etcetera. There are also several great scenic drives in the area such as the Pikes Peak Highway, and this Highway adds a new meaning to the name HIGH WAY as it climbs to a height of 14,115 feet in altitude.
