Vacation Rental By Owner is a great way to go when you are taking a vacation. Take a look at Mountain Sun Cabin in the mountains near Divide Colorado. Owners Brad and Laura of Divide Mountain Rentals along with their son Kyle (Manager) have done a great job again with this one.  This beautiful cabin is situated on thirty five acres of land with expansive views of 14,115 foot Pikes Peak and other areas to the south. Spend some time hiking the thirty five acres of land, enjoy some time in the hot tub and cook up a nice meal on the grill to be enjoyed in the great outdoors or the beautiful indoor setting of the cabin.

The inside of the cabin is beautifully furnished to make your stay an unforgettable experience. After a day of exploring sit back and relax in the expansive cathedral living area and enjoy the views through the floor to ceiling windows while you watch a movie on the 46 inch plasma TV or enjoy reading  your favorite book with a cozy fire in the rock fireplace. The Kitchen has all the tools you need to fix meals to feed your hungry family after a fun day of exploring. The kitchen and bathrooms have hickory cabinets and granite countertops. When the day is done and it is time for a good nights rest, slip into one of the beds with beautifully made Aspen bed frames made by the owner of the cabin.

If you are looking for activities to do in the region there are plenty. Twenty miles to the south there is the town of Cripple Creek where you can descend 1,000 feet underground in the World Famous Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine Tour. The ride to Cripple Creek is well worth the drive along this very scenic highway. While in town check out the many Restaurants, Museums, Gift shops or you may want to test your luck while in town. If you are looking for a nice hike on your way to Cripple Creek, you may want to check out The Crags Trail. The Crags Trail is a beautiful 4.9 mile round trip family friendly trail that brings you to some gorgeous granite rock formations where you can take in some spectacular views of the surrounding Colorado Mountains.

Twenty plus miles to the east is Manitou Springs and Colorado Springs where you can tour the Manitou Cliff Dwellings, Cave of the Winds and Garden of the gods. If you wish to bag 14,115 foot Pikes Peak, there are three ways to do it, one ride the Pikes Peak Cog Railway, two take a drive up the Pikes Peak Highway or hike the twelve miles of Barr trail one way to the top. (It is another twelve plus miles back down, so you will want to plan your exit route.) If a hike to the top of the peak seems like a bit much, nearby Garden of the god’s has several great hikes within the park.

For the fisherman in the family you can test your skills on the South Platte River, with locations like Eleven Mile Canyon, Eleven Mile Canyon Reservoir, Spinney Mountain Reservoir and the Gold Metal fly fishing stretch of the South Platte River known as The Dream Stream. At the end of a great day of fishing out in a beautiful part of creation, and you have a need to feed your hunger, check out one of the restaurants in the town of Divide, such as McGintys Wood Oven Pub or Mikes Corner BBQ or check out the City of Woodland Park to the east of Divide.

Ordinary to Extraordinary with HDR

img_5490-3 img_5488-hdr-72-3 img_5285-3-jpg1 img_5285-hdr-72-3

With a highly competitive Real Estate market and so many prospective buyers shopping for their next property on line, the Realtor needs to make sure that the property is photographed in the best light possible. That is where HDR photography and processing come in.

◙ Dynamic Range of the Human Eye verses Camera ◙ The human eye is an amazing creation. The human eye’s through adaptations in the iris and other processes, adjusts constantly to the wide range of light present in our environment. The brain continuously interprets this information so that the individual can see in a wide range of light conditions. The human eye captures images much like a video camera where it is constantly adjusting to the available light in any given setting, therefore in this situation the dynamic range of the eye can exceed 24 stops of light. If the eye were to operate like a camera and take snapshots, the dynamic range of the eye would be around 10-14 stops of light however our eyes are not camera’s therefore the dynamic range of the eye is far superior than that of a camera. Most modern DSLR’s capture around 8-11 stops of light per photograph. That’s where HDR (High Dynamic Range) photography and processing come in to give you a photograph that equals or in some cases create photographs with more dynamic range than what the eye can see.

◙The Real Estate Photographer ◙ My job as a Real Estate Photographer is to produce natural looking HDR photographs that showcase each property in the best light possible. HDR gets this job done as we take anywhere from 3 to 7 frames per scene, and then merge the bracketed images together to create an HDR picture, then the merged photograph is carefully touched up using Adobe Lightroom and Adobe CC2015 to give the Realtor and the property owner a natural looking photograph done in the best light possible.
