Another great vacation rental in the mountains of Colorado from Divide Mountain Rentals. Owners Brad and Laura, along with their son Kyle (Manager) have done it again with Elk Spring Cabin. This cabin is located near the town of Divide. David and Michele owners and Photographers of BestLight Photography had the privilege of photographing this beautiful cabin and things to do in the area. This beautiful secluded cabin sits in the middle of 35 acres of land in a setting of pines and aspens. Down the hill from the cabin is a spring fed pond where wildlife occasionally come for a refreshing drink. The inside of the cabin is beautifully furnished with all of the comforts of home. Enjoy incredible views out of the windows of the floor to ceiling cathedral living room from anywhere in the kitchen, dining room or living room. The kitchen and dining areas are well equipped to prepare a great meal for family and friends, there is also a nice sized deck on the back of the cabin equipped with a grill to enjoy a meal while you take in the incredible views of America’s Mountain, Pikes Peak. After a long day take a dip in the hot tub and enjoy the vast amount of stars that can be seen on a clear night. When it is time to move back indoors relax while you watch a movie on the TV while you warm yourself in front of the rock fireplace.

If you are looking for activities to do in the region, there is plenty to do for all ages. To the east at the foot of Pikes Peak lay the Cities of Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs where you can spend days exploring the many great activities that these two cities have to offer, for example take a walk underground in the Cave of the Winds, take a stroll back in time at the Manitou Cliff Dwellings, hike the trails in Garden of the gods or if they are too easy then challenge yourself to the 24 mile round trip to the top of Pikes Peak and back via the Barr Trail. If you are looking to sit back and relax as the scenery unfolds before you, check out the Pikes Peak Cog Railway or drive to the summit via the Pikes Peak Highway. About twenty miles to the south is the town of Cripple Creek where you can descend 1,000 feet underground in the Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine Tour. If you want to learn about the history of Cripple Creek, check out the Cripple Creek Heritage and Information Center located across from the Mollie Kathleen. While you are in Cripple Creek you may want to treat the family to a ride on the Cripple Creek & Victor Narrow Gauge Railroad. If you are looking for restaurants within a reasonable distance of the cabin, consider in the city of Woodland Park. Hungry Bear Restaurant, Fusion Japan, AJ’s Stone Oven American Pizzeria, Joanie’s Bakery & Delicatessen, Fiesta Mexicana Family Restaurant and the Donut Mill. Closer to the cabin be sure to check out McGintys Wood Oven Pub and Mikes Corner BBQ.

To the west check out Colorado’s prehistoric past at the Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument or take a tour of the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center. If you are into fishing and scenery, test your skills in the gold metal waters of the South Platte River in Eleven Mile Canyon and a bit further west on the Dream Stream section of the South Platte. After a rewarding and activity filled day creating memories that will last a lifetime in the Colorado mountains, rest assured that you have a beautiful and comfortable cabin to rest up in for your next day of great family adventures.
